At AkzoNobel, we create innovative paints and coatings that help color and protect what matters most. We're looking for an experienced Site Engineering Manager (SRE) to lead our engineering strategy, capital project portfolio and process safety agenda at our Sassenheim site.
In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering critical CAPEX projects, driving operational excellence and ensuring the highest standards in process safety, engineering governance and sustainability performance. As the site's Responsible Engineer (SRE), you'll play a key leadership role across manufacturing, R&D, facilities and commercial operations.
What you'll do
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Own the site's engineering roadmap and CAPEX portfolio.
- Deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.
- Act as Site Responsible Engineer and champion Process Safety Management.
- Lead hazard studies, ATEX governance and technical risk management.
- Chair the Site Energy Committee and drive sustainability initiatives related to energy, CO₂ reduction and water use.
- Partner with site leadership, operations, maintenance, R&D and global stakeholders to shape the future of the site.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Extensive experience within engineering, manufacturing, project management or asset management.
- Strong knowledge of process safety and industrial risk management.
- Proven leadership experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Fluency in English and Dutch.
