About the job
To implement Health and Safety policy guidelines, foster an organizational culture aligned with these guidelines and manage hazards.
Key responsibilities
- To develop and ensure the implementation of HSE&S policy guidelines, plans, and practices for manufacturing site in accordance with AkzoNobel’s HSE&S policy, guidelines, regulations, procedures and relevant legal requirements.
- To act as an agent of change for the continuous improvement of HSE&S standards, performance, capabilities and culture within the AkzoNobel organization in accordance with AkzoNobel’s programs.
- To serve as an effective coach for the organization by leveraging and disseminating information regarding HSE&S, actively participating in AkzoNobel’s expert groups to deliver the Safety Common Platform, HSE learning programs, incident audit and investigation procedures, through in-house training and professional development activities.
- Contribute to the development of the HSE strategy to draft, implement and enforce HSE&S policies, guidelines, regulations and procedures, as well as the AkzoNobel Safety Common Platform, to advance to the next level, ensuring that objectives align with performance across the organization.
- To attract, lead, evaluate and develop the potential of employees in accordance with the HR guidelines and the HSE&S operating model.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in HSE, engineering or any other related field.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in industrial environment working in high HSE standards.
- Well-developed strategic and conceptual skills focused on execution.
- Ability to exert a positive influence, convince others to gain acceptance regarding various plans and activities and the ability to motivate others to act voluntarily in the desired direction.
- Ability to act toward the continuous improvement of processes, policies and standards as well as to work as part of a team within the HSE&S community so that the team speaks with “one voice” and achieves its collective objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, entrepreneurial spirit, results-oriented mindset, skills in negotiation, problem-solving, project management and business acumen.
- Very good command of Romanian and English language.
