Job Purpose
In a team-oriented environment, perform all duties related to the operation of the Catbridge and Dusenberry slitters. This includes operating the machinery, producing material, inspection & verification that the material is produced in conformance to specification requirements. Ensure specifications are met daily.
Key Accountabilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Support the standards and values of AkzoNobel.
• Complete all training modules.
• Assist with Slitting machine setup according to specifications and schedules.
• Adhere to production schedules daily as expected.
• Pull/print all instructions on a job order including specifications.
• Develop a working knowledge with the inventory control systems.
• Ensure that the machine is properly and adequately supplied with materials.
• Ensure that all finished products are properly labeled, packaged, and delivered to its specified designation.
• Assist with operating the slitting machines in a safe manner while keeping work areas clean and orderly.
• Maintain a safe working environment and personal safety record by adhering to sound safety practices.
• Have thorough understanding of the quality system.
• Operate all essential warehouse equipment to include powered forklift truck, wrapping machines, in a safe manner.
• Must be willing to work overtime as required
• Assist and participate with other areas in order to promote a team environment.
• Assist with all month end duties are completed in the allotted time frame.
• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read a tape measurer accurately, as small as millimeters.
• Ability to perform calculations adding and subtracting for mathematical calculations daily for accurate production goals.
• Must have ability for reading, comprehension, writing, and math.
• Ability to communication effectively with peers and other departmental staff.
Additional Responsibilities
• Monthly safety training sessions
• Participate in all recycling efforts.
• Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Required
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous manufacturing experience
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read and interpret written information
• Work in a team environment
Preferred
• Forklift experience
• Microsoft office experience
