Job Purpose

The primary function of this position is to support the site by providing project lifecycle management to include concept, design, execution, and startup of machinery and systems.  The role will also support maintenance and operations for the facility.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage all phases of multi-discipline projects to include:
    • Concept and Proposals
    • Design and Estimation
    • Supplier and Contractor Selection
  • Track costs and project status to ensure timely completion within approved budget.
  • Measure and document existing machinery and systems (reverse engineering), proposing recommendations for existing problems and expanding equipment capability.
  • Design and prepare documents for fabrication and assembly of new/modified designs.
  • Prepare capital investment proposals with safety, quality, and financial justifications.
  • Ensure systems meet safety requirements, documenting safety compliance.
  • Support project managers with mechanical designs and expertise as needed.
  • Prepare and deliver drawing packages for part fabrication as required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 2-3 years’ experience with the mechanical design of machinery and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability with film processing and handling equipment (i.e., coating dies, winders, tension transducers, web surface treaters, vision systems, slitters, roll laminators). 
  • Familiarity with machining, welding, and other manufacturing methods for producing components and assemblies.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic, fluid handling, and hydraulic systems
  • Proficient in 2d and 3d CAD (Inventor, Solid Works, Solid Edge, Catia, etc.).  
  • Familiarity with safety requirements for machinery in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication, organizational, documentation, and project management skills.

Total Compensation

The compensation package for this position will include a base salary, annual bonus, and employee benefits that are effective the first day of employment.
