Job Purpose

The purpose of the Process Engineer is to take a lead role in commissioning, startup and handover of the new process to manufacturing. Following handover the Process Engineer becomes the process owner for optimization and continuous improvement initiatives to increase production rates, improve product quality and improve operating costs. The Process Engineer play a lead role in the Quality and Performance Success of the manufacturing operation. Also will execute small capital projects and deliver them to Production making sure they meet Safety and Quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manages the Commissioning and Startup processes for equipment lines and facilitates handover to production including the creation and training on SOP’s.
  • Monitors the process performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) such as RFT, MME, OEE, cost productivity, customer complaints, and takes action to make improvements including performing plant based process investigations
  • Identifies opportunities for process optimization, leads optimization projects.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis on chronic product and process problems and implement corrective/preventive actions which result in meeting plant goals.
  • Identify, design, coordinate and employ statistical evaluations utilizing the ASQ Body of Knowledge. This will include MSA, DOE, Capability Analysis, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Provide quality and manufacturing support as required to meet specific program needs.
  • Colaborate with Site iniciatives to implement PSM program.
  • Assist in developing and implementing the plant wide Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Assist in specification development and/or changes as requested.
  • Organizes meetings with Pilot Plant, QC, Manufacturing and R&D to investigate product or Production Process problems and develop corrective action plans.

Job Requirements

  • BS in Engineering: Mechanical, Chemical, Process or similar required
  • 5-7 years experience in CI, Process Engineering or Engineering roles preferably in the Coatings industry.
  • Ability to work with solvents, machinery and PLC systems
  • Strong MS office Skills. (Using excel for data analysis and decision making, good presentation skills)
  • Experience in batch or continuous manufacturing operations
  • Experience in capital projects execution and delivery

Compensation Data

The salary range for these skills is: $94,000- $105,000.00.  This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.  This salary range may also be modified in the future.
