This role as Site Manager for AkzoNobel in Felling, Gateshead is just the opportunity you are looking for. We are now looking for a Site Manager to oversee our Felling facility and ensure it continues to contribute to the strategy of our corporate business.

Key Accountabilities

As Site Manager you will manage operations and set the site’s vision. You will plan, manage, organise and control the delivery of the site’s contribution to business goals and overall performance. This will involve overseeing HSE&S, service and quality, costs, people resources and community stewardship. You will implement company initiatives to establish a site culture of functional and operational excellence, continuous improvement, accountability, professionalism as well as a commitment to company values and behaviours.

We will expect you to develop your people and build expertise through coaching and mentoring to ensure skills are in place and teams are motivated to achieve for customers. You will ensure the site safely delivers the highest customer service and quality standards whilst generating productivity through a clearly communicated strategy which drives effective continuous improvement

Experience

You will have a degree in an engineering or science discipline and have large site management experience in a manufacturing environment. You will ideally have COMAH and strong process safety management expertise too. Good at managing and developing people, you will demonstrate a solid understanding of the importance of H&S and high environmental standards as well as the ability to translate business strategy and aims into successful operational plans.

You will also possess sound knowledge of Quality Assurance and continuous improvement methodologies. Used to implementing and sustaining lean manufacturing concepts you are good at identifying problems and finding solutions. Critically, you are highly customer focused, effective at transforming business processes and delivering cultural change.

Strong Union and industrial relationship management expertise would be advantageous in this role.
