Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to ensure that adequate resources and capability (people and processes) reside within the business to deliver on the financial and non-financial targets by managing business relationships with customers/accounts (current customers and new prospects) with focus on strategic customers for Interpon Powder Coatings.

Key Accountabilities

  • Create and execute Key Account/Customer Plan globally aligned with Regional/Global Segment and Marketing plan 
  • Develop relevant Commercial pipeline for respective accounts.  Provide front line support for powder coating applications
  • Deliver the agreed financial and non-financial targets in line with business budgets
  • Drive innovation through customers
  • Develop and maintain contact map within each account – at all reporting level and across all functions 
  • Drive Continuous Improvement across the organization to generate value to customers –Forecast, Service, Capability, Efficiency and Productivity 
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including relevant teams at the key accounts to prioritize new developments, make plans for trials, etc. 
  • Provide support and leadership to sales, customer services and technical teams by showing vision and providing resources to ensure high service levels and operational efficiency 
  • Steward new business development projects opposite Key Account requirements
  • Contribute to and provide input as a member of the global Key Account team and the regional commercial teams especially for Market Intelligence new product development, Integrated Business Planning and Customer Relationship Management
  • Attend and participate in Powder Plant Programs/Committees/Training as required, such as Department Safety, Plant Safety, Behavioral Safety, Housekeeping Audit Teams, ISO, Life Saving Rules or any other safety programs

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field.  Master of Business Administration or related field preferred
  • 5-8 years’ experience in commercial roles, sales and key account management in paints and powder coatings or related industry with a successful business development track record
  • Basic understanding of cross functional processes and financial concepts related to sales and cost to serve
  • Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly developed negotiating and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel 35% - 40%.  Overnight travel may be required
