Job Purpose

The main purpose of the job is to provide technical and administrative assistance to the Solutions Lab in operations, in the fulfilment of internal and external customer laboratory work requests and in support of the organizational goals concerning product performance and product modification. In addition, the scope of the job also includes the other S Lab duties including, but not limited to safety, product stewardship, QC support, special projects, etc.

Job Responsibilities

1.Laboratory Work Requests.
-Gather relevant information about the laboratory request or customer requirements such as background of the request, product information and other parameter and conduct lab tests as needed.
-Conduct lab analysis to find root cause of customer complaints on product performance and provide recommendations. If necessary, visit the customers to fully understand the requirements.

2.Product Performance and Modification.
-Modifying existing formulation for minor changes as needed.
-Modifying existing formulations to address production issues or/and improve efficiency.
-Samples preparation for new or modified formulations.
-Production scale up activities, pilot production, manufacturing instructions for new products.

3.Documentation Management.
-Ensure complete documentation of the activities done in the laboratory and the requirements needed by the customers such as logging data in the LWR system, CRM system, providing technical data sheets, regulatory documents, S-lab reports, etc.

4.Other S-Lab Activities.
-Provide support on other S-lab activities such as admin work that supports HSE&S (Safety), admin work that supports Product Stewardship, Production problem/ production support/ QC support, VE (Value Engineering) projects, alternative raw materials project, raw material shortage issue, Slob management (returned goods, poor quality products management), etc.

Job Requirements

  • At least University Graduate with a degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or related degree

  • At least 1 year of experience in metal packaging coatings or at least 3 years experience in related industry if not metal packaging coatings.

  • Experience in R&D or technical service is a plus.

  • Good communication and problem solving skills

  • Good computer skills

  • Can communicate in verbal and written English

  • Ability to handle multi-task jobs

  • Ability to work independently

  • Keen to details

  • Quick learner

  • Has initiative
