Job Purpose
Operate and coordinate assigned occupational safety and health activities for International Paint Korea Ltd. (IPK), in alignment with AkzoNobel HSE requirements, relevant Korean legislation, SAPA requirements, KOSHA-MS, ISO standards and the IPK HSE Management System.
Key Accountabilities
1. HSE Management System / SAQ – Operate assigned HSE management system activities, SAQ evidence, ISO 45001 records and KOSHA-MS with SAPA-related documentation within assigned scope. (25%)
2. Continuous Improvement – Operate HSE improvement activities, KPI monitoring, HSE Committee, training, BBS, incident management and HSE communication. (25%)
3. Health Management – Support company-wide occupational health management, occupational disease prevention, health consultation, medical check-up planning and health-related legal requirements. (20%)
4. Safety Risk Management – Support company-wide safety risk management, risk assessment, field safety control and corrective action follow-up. (20%)
5. KOSHA-PSM / HSE Authority Inspection – Support assigned KOSHA-PSM activities, process safety documentation and Authority inspection preparation for HSE matters. (10%)
Activities
1. Maintain assigned SAQ / ISO 45001 / KOSHA-MS SAPA evidence, track action closure and prepare system status data for HSE review.
2. Operate Commercial Site Improvement Plan activities by monitoring KPIs, coordinating HSE Committee follow-up, managing training status and communicating incident learnings.
3. Coordinate company-wide occupational health programs, including medical check-up planning, health consultation follow-up and occupational disease prevention activities.
Requirement
Qualifications / Education
- University degree with safety, health, industrial hygiene, engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, industrial engineering or related background.
- HSE or occupational health-related certification is preferred.
- Preferred certifications include Industrial Safety Engineer, Industrial Hygiene Engineer, Construction Safety Engineer, Dangerous Goods Engineer or other relevant HSE certifications.
Business and / or Functional Skills / Knowledge
- Good understanding of occupational safety and health requirements in Korea.
- Good understanding of HSE management system operation.
- Good understanding of SAQ, ISO 45001 and HSE evidence management.
- Good understanding of SAPA-related documentation and action tracking.
- Good understanding of HSE KPI monitoring and improvement action follow-up.
- Good understanding of occupational health management and occupational disease prevention.
- Good understanding of field safety, contractor safety and risk assessment.
- Basic understanding of KOSHA-MS and AkzoNobel HSE Management System.
- Basic understanding of KOSHA-PSM and process safety requirements is preferred.
- Good communication skills with line managers, employees, contractors and health service providers.
- Ability to prepare HSE communication, newsletters and training materials.
- Ability to manage action tracking, evidence collection and HSE records.
- Ability to work as part of One IPK HSE Team.
- Good verbal and written English language skills at intermediate level.
Experience
- More than 3 years of HSE, safety or occupational health experience is preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, chemical, marine coating, technical service, construction, shipyard or field service environment is preferred.
- Experience in HSE management system operation, SAQ, ISO documentation or evidence management is preferred.
- Experience in HSE KPI monitoring, HSE Committee support, training or communication is preferred.
- Experience in occupational health program support, medical check-up coordination or industrial hygiene activities is preferred.
- Experience in HSE inspection, audit support, risk assessment or corrective action tracking is preferred.
- Experience in contractor safety, field safety or TSR safety support is preferred.
