Key Accountabilities
• Product: Marine & Protective coatings
• Testing/Support of existing technologies, products and process
• Developing Fundamental understanding of the key coating and technology attributes
• Effective development and management of long term plans for assigned projects and support activities. Contribute to project risk analysis
• Understand how project attributes relate to external customer needs through market insights
• Design, develop, carry-out, evaluate and interpret experiments under own direction based on advanced knowledge and previous experience
• Identify and contribute to idea generation by building on other’s ideas e.g. to support test method development &/or developing new products and technologies
• Effectively analysis data and patterns to generate conclusions and recommendations within agreed timescales using appropriate methods
• Plan, conduct and evaluate trials (e.g application, production processes, equipment’s) as required
• Applies understanding of IP, legislative demands, standard products &/or technologies, including application and testing recommendations in pertinent fields
• Identifies improvement needs and suggests improvement activities/projects to resolve major issues, concerns e.g. collecting analyzing data. Drive roll-out of improvement solutions
• Provision of effective support to internal and external customers (e.g. training colleagues, leading claims/complaints investigations and managing trials).
• Effective communication and liaison with key influencers e.g. within the team, MPY RD&I,
Technology team, PSRA, Intellectual property, other cross functions and external suppliers.
• Maintains a safe working environment, e.g. member of 5S team, supports health and safety engagement audits and BBS processes
Job Requirements
• Bachelor degree or Post graduate in chemistry, or other relative discipline;
• About minimum 3-5 years RD&I experience preferably in coatings and related industries;
• Sensitive to Color, able to see the color difference and do color adjustment;
• Excellent coordination and good communication skill;
• Good problem solving skills and learning ability;
• Good team management skills, experience in performance management and capability of motivating and development of team members;
• Result driven, can work under pressure;
• Fluent English in both speaking & writing;
• Ability to read & understand all of chemical materials information such as MSDS, TDS;
• Ability to operate all of machines/ equipment in own responsibility scope.
