The Role


We are looking for an experienced Regional Facilities Manager to lead facilities management and workplace services across a large and diverse geographic region. In this role, you will act as the primary interface between AkzoNobel's business stakeholders and our outsourced facilities service providers, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality workplace environments.
You will oversee facilities operations across multiple countries, supporting manufacturing sites, laboratories, warehouses, and office locations while driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and cost optimization.
This is a highly visible leadership role that combines stakeholder management, supplier governance, financial oversight, and project leadership within a complex international environment.

Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder & Service Management
•    Serve as the regional point of contact for facilities management across multiple countries and locations.
•    Build strong relationships with regional business leaders, site management teams, and functional stakeholders.
•    Lead regular performance reviews with internal customers and external service providers.
•    Drive service excellence through KPI, SLA, and operational performance management.
•    Manage escalations and ensure timely resolution of service issues and customer concerns.
•    Translate regional business needs into facilities solutions and improvement initiatives.
•    Promote a strong safety, security, and compliance culture across all locations.
•    Support organizational understanding of facilities processes, governance, and responsibilities.
Supplier & Vendor Management
•    Manage outsourced facilities service providers across the region.
•    Ensure consistent service delivery and adherence to contractual obligations.
•    Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement plans where required.
•    Drive standardization and best-practice adoption across locations.
•    Foster collaborative partnerships that deliver measurable business value.
Financial Management
•    Manage and validate regional facilities budgets.
•    Identify and deliver cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.
•    Analyze financial and operational data to support decision-making.
•    Benchmark facilities and workplace costs to drive competitiveness.
•    Oversee financial performance of facilities projects and operational activities.
Facilities Projects
•    Identify and prioritize facility-related improvement opportunities.
•    Lead workplace, infrastructure, and building-related projects.
•    Coordinate project delivery across multiple countries and stakeholders.
•    Represent facilities within cross-functional business initiatives.
•    Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and within budget.
Continuous Improvement
•    Drive operational excellence and process improvement initiatives.
•    Apply data-driven problem-solving methodologies to improve performance.
•    Identify opportunities to enhance customer experience and reduce cost-to-serve.
•    Support the implementation of best practices across the regional portfolio.

What you will bring

Experience & Qualifications
•    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Facilities Management, Real Estate, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
•    Minimum 10 years of experience in facilities management, real estate, workplace services, or a related discipline.
•    Proven experience managing facilities operations across multiple countries and cultures.
•    Minimum 5 years of experience managing outsourced service providers and vendor relationships.
•    Strong experience in service delivery management within complex organizations.
•    Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or process industry environments.
•    Demonstrated experience leading facilities, workplace, or infrastructure projects.
•    Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma is an advantage.

•    Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
