Area Sales Manager Strategic Accounts

Job Purpose

Manages direct and indirect accounts (customers and prospects) to achieve agreed sales revenue / margin targets, through the development of new and existing customers.

 Improving relationship and specification position with target clients/owners across all markets within dedicated region.

To achieve Return on Sales in accordance with the MPC budget.

Key Accountabilities

Work closely with Sales / KAM / Marketing / Distribution Partners/Supply Chain to perform continuous market/lead research for in-depth market knowledge of the value chain of the accounts within the dedicated region in context of further market penetration

Identify significant business opportunities within applicators, fabricators, engineering contractors (indirect and direct) owners and consultants - be the lead building rapport, pinpointing potential problems and arranging resolution, gaining specification position, converting to sale

The function of the Strategic Accounts Manager position is to be primary sales contact of International`s Marine and Protective Coatings Group with its customers.   The interaction between customers (Asset Owners, Fabricators, Blast and Paint Contractors, Distributors, Engineers, Consultants, Specifiers and Architects), is complex requiring problem-solving, technical assistance and selling of International`s product.

Actively contribute toward sales / profitability growth, collaborate with team on key revenue initiatives, align with company and regional strategies i.e) Focus Products, Services, Partner acceleration

Build / improve customer satisfaction and engagement, manage relationships with existing direct customers for mutual profitability growth

Experience

A University Degree or equivalent Technical qualification.

At least 5 years’ experience in the Coatings industry

Strong interpersonal, negotiation and/or influencing skills and willingness to demonstrate persistence

A customer/business focus with ability to network within the industry.

A high level of personal organisation skills.

A desire to learn about the Marine and Protective coatings industry both from internal and external training.

Experience or knowledge of steel coatings, blast cleaning and application.

Experience in dealing with contracting companies and technical personnel

10 years Sales experience

An understanding of broader business issues related to a sales role.

NACE CIP Level 1 or higher.
