We are now seeking an experienced Technical Service Representative to join the International Paint Marine and Protective Coatings Australasia team. Location for this role is Sydney.


Technical Service Representatives (TSR) provide in field, hands on coatings inspection and technical support to the Marine and Protective Coatings disciplines. 

  • Provide high level, hands-on technical support and training on the use, application, installation and inspection of company products, services, equipment and documentation
  • Service internal and external customers, new business and existing
  • Provide expert technical advice on the proper use of the company’s products
  • Interface with technical / sales functions, and to ensure product application aligns with business needs
  • Proactively prevents and solves problems of a technical nature occurring at existing customers
  • Gather market intelligence on product range and its applications, the latest trends in protective coatings, in technical developments and with customer activities and their changing demands, to gain new potential customers or increase market share
  • Gets familiar with all the applicable corporate as well as site policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct/HSE standards and acts in compliance with all their regulations.
    At least 3 year experience in the Marine and or Protective Industry, or similar relevant coatings industry, with a focus on technical theory and practical components regarding inspection and application
    A good understanding of Marine Antifouling technologies, Marine Class societies, Dry Docking procedures, New Building procedures, coating efficacy inspection and reporting (such as antifouls)
  • Minimum NACE 1 or higher
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy
  • Ability to create and maintain customer relationships
  • Can successfully communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to undertake and pass Australian security and police checks required for access to customer sites
    Require to travel within the Australasian region (WA / NSW / QLD / SA / VIC / TAS / NZ / PNG) on a regular basis with overseas travel potentially.
