About the Role

Are you a commercially driven sales professional with a passion for building strong customer relationships and growing market share? Do you thrive in a field-based role where you can combine business development, account management, and technical expertise?

We are seeking an experienced Technical Account Manager – Yacht Coatings to drive sales growth and customer engagement across New South Wales, including Sydney CBD, Northern Beaches, Northern NSW and Pacific Islands.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing key customer relationships, and supporting customers with product and technical expertise across our premium yacht coatings portfolio, including Awlgrip®, International®, and Sea Hawk® brands.

You will play a critical role in executing the regional sales strategy and achieving revenue, margin, and market share targets. You will work closely with distributors, resellers, boatyards, applicators, and yacht owners to strengthen customer relationships and identify growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of customers across the assigned territory.
  • Develop new business opportunities and acquire new customers aligned with business growth objectives.
  • Expand market penetration and identify opportunities to increase Awlmix colour mixing capability.
  • Provide product and technical training to distributors, resellers, and end users.
  • Support distributor and reseller growth through regular customer visits, training, product promotions, new product launches, and marketing initiatives.
  • Monitor sales performance against targets and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Participate in industry events, boat shows, and marketing activities to enhance brand awareness and customer engagement.
  • Monitor local regulatory requirements and support product compliance initiatives.
  • Provide regular market intelligence and feedback on competitors, industry trends, opportunities, and threats.
  • Maintain accurate records within CRM and other business systems.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key industry stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver sales reports, business reviews, and recommendations to management.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Technical, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Drive performance across key commercial metrics including revenue, margin, ASP, overdue accounts, and inventory management.
  • Operate in accordance with all health, safety, environmental, compliance, and company standards.

About You

You are a self-motivated sales professional who enjoys working autonomously while building strong partnerships with customers and colleagues. You have a proven track record of delivering commercial results and identifying opportunities for growth.

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in Sales, Business Development, Key Account Management, or a similar commercial role within a B2B environment.
  • Proven ability to develop new business and manage strategic customer relationships.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse sales performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Experience working collaboratively across multiple business functions.
  • Effective project management, planning, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of paints, coatings, marine, boating, or yacht industries is advantageous but not essential.
  • Existing network within the marine industry is beneficial but not required.
