Job Purpose

This is a position in which you work as a Senior Production Planner, while you support projects focused on longer-term Integrated Business Planning. The roles are interdependent, and both provide wide scope to deploy your understanding of the supply chain process and its evolving systems and tools. 

For Production Planning you efficiently manage production costs by developing the plans for aerospace coatings production sites. This involves, for example, batch size settings and tactical shift planning as you meet customer demand. 

The role gives you considerable scope to work autonomously on complex processes while assuming more responsibility across multiple segments, regions, or production units. You are in constant and proactive touch with a wide group of stakeholders, including senior managers, at both operational and strategic levels. 

Key Responsibilites

  • Participating in the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process
  • Manage the MRP (Material Requirement Planning) process and resolve exceptions in accordance with IBP rules. Master production plan 13-week horizon/ 1 week/ daily release for production plant/ cells while keeping in line with agreements made on capacity.
  • Scheduling supply plans: including creating and releasing weekly production program and process orders to the shop floor to the site in line with agreements made with the site. Review schedule adherence and drive improvement.
  • Work together with DRP Planners (Demand Requirement Analyst) to understand customer requirements and incorporate this in the production plan.
  • Maintain MRP Master Data for existing materials and NPIF (New Products).
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Review with Material Planner the purchasing of raw materials.
  • Drive gate keeping meetings with the other departments and support with providing relevant KPI’s to measure performance.
  • Provide impact analysis when needed to show the impact of decisions or scenarios to the plan. Support reporting where necessary.
  • Balance service level (OTIF) and inventory targets (OWC), whilst understanding cost impacts on manufacturing. Manage reduction and prevention of slow and obsolete stock. Ensure rework and scrapping at the site/primary DC. Inputs to inventory strategy including safety stock settings on existing, new and phase-out products.
  • Ensure master data correctness & proper housekeeping of transactional data.
  • Inputs to inventory strategy including safety stock settings on existing, new and phase-out products, segmenting approach depending on commercial requirements 
  • Support initiatives within our Industrial Excellence program on behalf of planning. Examples include, but are not limited to:
    • Scope and projection of required raw material and finished goods warehouse capacity, taking into 
      consideration demand, stocking policies, risks/opportunities
    • Support with preparation and implementation to mature rough cut capacity planning process  

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or a Master’s that is closely related to supply chain
  • At least 2 years of supply chain experience
  • An open-minded and flexible approach is necessary to learn and succeed within our dynamic, multicultural environment
  • Ideally, you are familiar with ERP systems such as SAP
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, with any other major European languages an advantage.
  • Good conceptual knowledge/skills (thinking ahead/scenario planning)
  • Stakeholder management / Collaboration skills – you will participate in cross-functional projects so it is important for you to be able to understand the audience and what is in for each participant  

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range for this role is: $72,000 to $84,000. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
