We have an opening just for you at our Waukegan site. This position will play a vital part of the Global Aerospace Management Team to contribute to the development and execution of the business strategy plan in the areas of technical service and quality assurance for the segment. 


The role reports through the Commercial Aerospace organization and is responsible to champion the non-conformance (NC)/ complaint process facilitation for the North American Aerospace business.  This includes the analysis and reporting of complaint/ NC data, facilitation of internal ongoing non-conformance reviews, serving as the advocate for the business to ensure proper resolution and corrective actions, verifying corrective actions and proactively proposes recommendations for improvement areas/projects from data analysis.  The role can also be utilized to facilitate and/or lead improvement projects as defined.  The role requires the effective interface with various functions throughout the organization internally and if necessary can engage customers, distributors and suppliers in conjunction with the organizational leads. 

Key Responsibilities



  • Analysis of external customer complaints leading to the generation of data, charts and recommendations for potential improvement areas for quality dashboards and management reviews.  Role = Responsible
  • Interfaces with quality assurance counterparts in other regions to ensure complaint/ NC data, transparency, processes, improvement actions, etc. are aligned to support the global business in resolution, prevention and responsiveness.  Role = Responsible
  • Manages/facilitates regular complaint reviews to ensure that the organization is responsive to deliver root causes, meaningful corrective actions and actions/processes to prevent reoccurrence through effective/efficient means and prioritization.  Role = Responsible
  • Works with Operations Quality and other functions in supportive or lead roles for internal non-conformances and audits.  Role = Supportive or Responsible
  • Works with the Commercial Team to ensure that communications to the customer, customer portal or form entries are developed/ coordinated for Commercial submission to the customer or are entered on behalf of the Commercial Team. Role = Responsible   
  • Facilitates or leads defined improvement projects with process owners.  Role = Supportive or Responsible
  • Back-up for critical responsibilities of the Commercial Quality Systems Specialist.


Key Activities
  • It is expected that the role is unbiased, acts and conveys with a sense of urgency, provides data for transparency to the organization and also interprets and makes recommendations to the organization/management on improvement areas. 


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Chemistry, Engineering or Quality Systems Mgmt.



  • Minimum 5 years experience in a quality role or technical discipline; either coatings or chemical industry preferred.
  • Exposure/certifications to quality standards beneficial to this and future roles (ISO9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, etc.).  



  • Effective communication skills, project management and facilitation in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Proven troubleshooting, root cause analysis and continuous improvement skills/methodology.  
  • Ability to lead and motivate project teams as needed to ensure a sense of urgency and efficient/professional approach is afforded. 
  • Confidence and ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. 
  • Proficient in computer applications – MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), Office 365 at a minimum; ERP system experience beneficial (SAP, other). Experience/familiarity with Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing principles beneficial.
