About the assignment


• Reporting to the Head of Regional FP&A ISC and working closely with the ISC Navigators, creating an impact by providing high value adding analysis to the ISC organization.

• Supporting the ISC Navigator in generating insights, particularly in the area of manufacturing productivity, product costing, CAPEX monitoring, cost of quality, warehousing and distribution cost, inventories and slow-moving inventory.

• Supporting the global FP&A ISC processes, like planning and budgeting to achieve strategic objectives of AkzoNobel.

• Actively driving continuous improvements and standardization initiatives in his/her area of responsibility.

• Implementing new solutions to ensure adherence to Target Operating Model and cost reductions.



• Analyzing current and past trends in key performance indicators; monitoring performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance.

• Analyzing landed product cost across sites and calculating labor rates as part of the product costing process.

• Providing support in completing AR business case for capex.

• Analyzing inventory levels and alerting navigator on potential SLOB risk.

• Monitoring capex, cost of quality and manufacturing productivity.

• Developing financial models and analysis to support strategic initiatives (such as ALPS/Continuous improvement, ISC cost of quality, footprint reduction).

• Providing inputs to Commercial FP&A on the impact of raw material changes on COGS to enable early pricing actions.

• Applying Continuous Improvement mindset to processes and related Standard Operating Procedures to ensure FP&A tasks are carried out on time and with right quality and customer needs are met.

• Frequently implementing changes to existing processes to reduce their workload / cycle time and/or increase customer satisfaction.

• Implementing new ways of working to ensure FP&A function stays on top of ever-changing environment.


  • 5+ years’ experience as analyst or controller in a business environment and/or functional area including practical experience in driving change projects in the company.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with a critical, but constructive, attitude.
  • Experience in building automated reports and models is a must.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze, organize, summarize and articulate complex financial information for decision making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong ‘can-do’ mentality and ‘drive’ to accomplish tasks in an environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand how reporting and FP&A processes work, execution based on SOPs and improvements.
  • Strong HFM, ERP and BI systems experience.
  • Ability to make independent interpretation, draw conclusions and propose solutions.
  • Ability to reduce complex and/or large volumes of data to a readable high level.
  • Accurate, organized and disciplined approach in order to achieve high quality output and to meet strict deadlines.
  • Experience in ‘change management’ in a finance environment is preferred.
