About the role
Indirect Tax Manager EMEA role is crucial for VAT compliance in EMEA for our Decorative Paints business. In addition, this person will support VAT compliance in NL and DACH region (Headquarters).
We are offering substitution contract until end of June 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the VAT compliance of our principal model in EMEA.
- Manage the VAT compliance of the Dutch HQ entities and support Dutch VAT registrations of foreign entities.
- Support VAT compliance in our DACH region.
- Improve Indirect Tax data quality and processes where VAT is involved.
- Drive process efficiencies and automation for the Indirect Tax processes (e.g. changes in SAP).
- Optimize tax processes in line with local indirect tax law jurisdictions.
- Remain up to date with local tax requirements and timely implementation within the AkzoNobel organization.
- Assist and/or coordinate Indirect Tax audits within EMEA where applicable.
Job requirements
- University degree in Finance or Accounting or in relevant field.
- Around 5 years of VAT experience in a consulting company or in-house tax function of a multinational company.
- In-depth VAT knowledge (EU Indirect Tax regulation).
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and a ‘hands on’ attitude.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business partners, tax colleagues, tax authorities and auditors.
- Good time management skills and able to manage towards tight deadlines.
- Team oriented and process driven approach.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with different stakeholders.
- Very good communication skills in English (both oral and written).
- SAP knowledge is preferred.
