About the role
As Architect – Finance Systems, you will define and evolve the global finance architecture and technology roadmap, ensuring solutions deliver business value and fit our enterprise standards. You’ll provide technical direction across Delivery and Operations, guiding large-scale change programs and modernizing finance capabilities in line with our digital transformation. This role reports to the Domain Architect, Enabling Functions.
Key responsibilities
- Define target architecture for Finance and connected domains (process, data, application, and integration views).
- Lead architecture decisions for the finance technology stack and supporting infrastructure.
- Shape and govern major SAP initiatives, including S/4HANA transformation and Central Finance patterns.
- Ensure solutions meet business requirements (FP&A, financial operations, treasury) and enterprise architecture standards.
- Establish and maintain architecture principles, standards, and reference designs for finance platforms.
- Partner with delivery, operations, and business leaders to translate strategy into executable roadmaps.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and technical debt across the finance landscape; propose pragmatic remediation plans.
- Communicate architecture trade-offs and recommendations to senior stakeholders, including C-level leaders.
Job requirements
- 10+ years of experience in a large, global organization across architecture and delivery/operational contexts.
- Deep understanding of FP&A and end-to-end financial operations (strategic through service layers).
- Proven expertise with SAP S/4HANA, including S/4 transformation and SAP on-premise ERP landscapes.
- Hands-on knowledge of SAP Central Finance and intercompany processes.
- Experience with finance platforms spanning financial planning and treasury solutions.
- Demonstrated architecture leadership in complex, multi-stakeholder environments; strong governance mindset.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills to address cross-domain architectural challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including influencing and aligning C-level stakeholders.
