About the Role:

 

As a Cash Application Specialist at AkzoNobel, you will support our financial operations by ensuring accurate and efficient cash application processes and resolving banking discrepancies. This role gives you independence within our guidelines and significant support from senior experts, presenting a unique opportunity to learn and grow in the cash application field.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Cash Management: Execute daily cash applications based on bank statements and ensure compliance with our SLAs.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with the Collections team to address and resolve issues related to unapplied and unidentified cash. Prepare and deliver timely reports to internal stakeholders.

  • Process Improvement: Actively ensure that the cash application process runs smoothly, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
    Collaborate with global process champions to identify areas for process enhancement and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Compliance and Reporting: Adhere to standard operating procedures and provide necessary documentation to support the audit processes.

 

Requirements:

 

  • 1 – 2 years of experience in cash application.

  • Fluent in English and one of the following languages: French, Italian, Spanish, Greek, Turkish, Romanian, Hungarian, Czech, Arabic, Polish.

  • Familiarity with various payment modes such as Direct Debits and Cheques is an advantage.

  • Proficient in basic accounting and Excel (including creating pivots and using formulas like xlookup).

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.

  • Ideal candidates possess a customer-oriented mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and a collaborative spirit, always ready to learn and contribute positively to team success.
