Job Purpose
This role owns the customer relationship and success of AkzoNobel at their specific location, delivering excellent on site face to face service to our customers in all product groups, by providing TS functional excellence, delivering operational improvement, driving the resale process by quantifying and communicating the value of improvements to both clients and internal sales teams.
Enabling Key Account Manager’s and Sales Managers through proactive collection of market intelligence, both opportunities and threats, through knowledge and promotion of cross product / segment AkzoNobel offer and the quantification of value delivered.
Key Activities
- Deliver technical service aligned with business strategy across Metal Coatings product groups.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through effective technical support, troubleshooting, and follow-up.
- Develop technical expertise to support customers, product transfers, and process improvements.
- Optimize customer processes, systems, and equipment to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Conduct customer audits and provide technical training when required.
- Resolve process and product-related technical issues.
- Coordinate product activities or modifications with PSO/RD&I.
- Build strong customer relationships across different levels and functions.
- Support joint projects, strategies, and action plans with customer stakeholders.
- Partner with KAMs, Sales Managers, and Account Managers to address questions, complaints, claims, and customer needs.
- Participate in customer meetings and business reviews when needed.
- Manage technical activities related to consignment stock at customer sites.
- Use CRM, internal networks, and technical knowledge to analyze customer situations and follow up on actions.
- Support account strategy through customer intelligence and identification of business opportunities.
- Support resale process improvements, technical sales activities, and plant demand forecasting.
- Quantify and communicate the value of improvements delivered to customers.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and RD&I to deliver technical service initiatives.
- Lead and support customer trials in partnership with KAMs, Sales Managers, and RD&I.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree Desirable; or 10 years of Experience in Field Service/ Sales/ Metal Coatings.
- Basic computer skills; MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint),CRM Systems, SAP.
- In depth Experience within a field sales/service role within Coil Coatings
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing processes
