Purpose of the job

The purpose of this role is to ensure that adequate resources and capability (people and processes) reside within the business to manage business relationships with nominated Key Accounts (current customers and new prospects) where the business has significant dependency on the accounts from a strategic perspective. Providing high level technical support.

Key responsibilities

 

  • Create and execute Key Account Plan globally aligned with Regional  / Global Segment & Marketing plan
  • Manage local KA contracts and support Global KAM on contracts & tenders
  • Support local KA in alignment with global KAM
  • Deliver financial KPIs from budget to actual regional P&L
  • Deliver financial KPIs from budget to actual consolidated global KA P&L
  • Drive innovation through KA
  • Develop relevant Commercial pipeline for respective KA
  • Closely follow and manage KA demand plan to meet SFI and KPI targets
  • Regularly calls on assigned existing and potential accounts to maintain close contact with the marketplace
  • Develop and maintain contact map within each KA – at all reporting level and across all functions
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including relevant teams at the key accounts to prioritize new developments, make plans for trials, etc.
  • Steward new business development projects opposite KA requirements.

Level of autonomy

  • Provides information to customer service regarding customers
  • Arranges for and monitors quality of technical support provided by the technical team for inquiries, product tests, training, and resolution of complaints
  • Maintain active presence with assigned KA and prospective KA
  • Manage relationship between AkzoNobel and KA
  • Plan own schedule and travel within AkzoNobel guidelines

Job requirements

 

  • Knowledge & Work Experience – Minimum 7 years experience in Commercial job function or Key Account Managemet. Prior coatings or food packaging experience a plus.
  • Established networks and relations within the Packaging segment preferred
  • Bachelor Degree in business management or relevant field, or additional relevant work experience.
  • Skills – Leadership, stakeholder management, project management, decision making, creating value propositions, drive, results orientation, communication and presentation, commercial and business acumen, basic understanding of cross functional processes and financial concepts related to sales and cost to serve
