Job Purpose

To supervise all warehouse operations. Starting from receiving to storage of goods, through to assembling of orders and finally dispatch. To ensure the maintenance of good customer relations and at the same time provide a quality and safe working environment. 

Key Accountabilities

1. Supervise the dispatch of goods and Point of Sales Material

  • Ensure quality of dispatched goods, investigate shortages, optimize route and delivery schedules as well as optimize work area arrangements

2. Maintain the accuracy of stock holding

  • Monitor deviations and take corrective action. Control non-operational stock and ensure compliance with stock cycle program

3. Check bin locations and their state

  • Ensure stock in saleable condition and secure bin replenishment

4. Record damaged and spilled stocks

  • Address record keeping and stock adjustments

5. Receive goods

  • Receive and process stock from DC's and external suppliers. Manage holding areas, goods received & returned in accordance with proper systems & processes including documentation. Receive consignment stock

6. Supervision of Staff

  • In accordance with company standards and requirements including IR and L&D

7. Outbound processing and work allocation management

  • Optimize work allocation, ensure operator picking and invoicing schedules are maintained in accordance with deadlines. Ensure handover of deliveries to local transporters. Supervise checking processes and safeguard scanner performance

8. Loading

  • Oversee the loading and offloading of all line haul vehicles. Transporter liaison and completion of seal manifest. Ensure TAT compliance

9. Compliance

  • To ISO 9001 / 14001 quality / environmental management systems & corporate Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) management system

Experience

  • Minimum Matric with a National Diploma / Certificate in Warehousing / Distribution / Logistics / Supply Chain. A university degree will be preferred
  • Relevant experience in warehouse operations environment in a supervisory role
  • Driver’s, Forklift and High-Rise license are necessary as well as an understanding of relevant Warehousing and Road Traffic legislation 
  • Sound knowledge and experience in working with SAP, WMS and the use of MS office is a pre-requisite 
  • Must be able to supervise, mentor and lead staff
