Job Purpose
1. Create material plan to ensure material availability in the factory ( packs ) and in distribution centers for products for resale, third-party manufacturing products.
2. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of existing and future capacity plans/ constraints of the packaging store , and knowledge of how the fluctuation in demand affect the supply plan and material demand
3. Coordinate product flow with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of trading goods and third-party produced materials.
4. Contact point to packaging store for material availability and the distribution centre for 3rd party manufactured products.
5. Support project and process improvement to enhance performance and efficiency of planning activities.
6. Ensure planning is aligned to service and OWC KPIs
Key Accountabilities
Packaging Planning
• Review/ update material planning and manage material availability: planning of JIT packaging materials, ensuring that the production plan can be executed.
• Creation of purchase orders and inform production planning on timelines.
• Manage MRP exception messages.
• Drive gate keeping meetings with the other departments and support with providing relevant KPI’s to measure performance.
• Reviewing with Supplier flexibility to support Material Planning with respect to supplier capacity and 2nd tier material availability.
• Link to Procurement to improve Supplier Performance and escalate in case of structural material availability issues (& inform stakeholders).
• Balance service level (OTIF) and inventory targets (OWC) of pack materials, whilst understanding cost impacts on manufacturing.
• Manage reduction and prevention of slow and obsolete stock (pack). Ensure rework and scrapping at the site/primary DC.
• Resolve invoice queries to ensure continuous material supply.
• Inputs to inventory strategy including safety stock settings on pack materials for existing, new and phase-out products.
• Ensure master data correctness & proper housekeeping of transactional data.
• Support projects and process improvement to enhance performance and efficiency of the required material planning activities.
Purchase for Resale Planning (PRF)
• Create the material plan consisting of trading goods and third-party produced materials.
• Create purchase orders to the suppliers in alignment with agreements on lead times and quantities.
• Understand existing and future capacity plans/constraints at third-party manufacturing plants ensuring that production capacity meets demand.
• Balance service level (OTIF) and inventory targets (OWC) at the primary distribution centre.
• Review the twelve-week outlook for the material plan with consideration of account capacity agreements and storage capacity on the site.
• Provide impact analysis, as required, to reflect the impact of decisions to the plan. Assist with reporting as needed.
• Proactively flag potential issues, recommending gap closing proposals.
• Work with the sites, procurement ,marketing and sales to decrease slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
• Ensure master data correctness and proper housekeeping of transactional data.
• Support projects and process improvement to enhance performance and efficiency of the required planning activities.
Key Performance Indicators
• Service – ensure on time and in full targets (Delivery Capability)
• Inventory within target levels – both in value and in days
• SLOBs – slow moving and obsolete stock in value
• Supply bias/ production plan adherence (ATP)
Experience
• University Education (e.g. Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or other relevant discipline) with Degree or equivalent qualification, preferred.
• At least 2+year experience in Supply Planning in FMCG, Paint/Coating or Retail
• Focused on results
• Good problem-solving skills, able to identify and structure issues, run accurate analyses and synthesize recommendations.
• Strong desire to challenge and improve status-quo.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility and able to work under-pressure.
• Fluent and able to work in English. Understanding and sensitivity to different cultural behaviours.
• Experience on Supply Planning in SAP and BI.
