Position Summary:
The Researcher III will provide the contribution into development of the innovative sustainable portfolio of AkzoNobel. Prepare, test, develop, analyze and research new coatings, crosslinking mechanisms and resins. Develop new and improve existing research methodology, in line with the global RD&I strategy. Establish new coatings chemistries and contribute to the realization of objectives of innovative developmental projects.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Technical Lead (parts) of significant for business complex projects
- Identifies shortcomings in current processes and procedures and suggests improvements
- Identifies new routes/technologies and solutions to technical challenges/problems.
- Participates in the global projects and ensure executing and delivery using own area of expertise
- Internally recognized across multiple business functions as expert in a specialty / field
- Identifies project need, set-up, plan, execute, analyze, interpret results and report experiments outside own unit
- Identifies new product/process optimization, technical solutions and innovation
- Keeps current on uses and improves relevant research methods in the field, ensures retention of knowledge through research reports
- With IP group manages & files IP applications and analyzes 3rd party IP
- Understands, develops, and comments on technical strategy in own area
- Functions as the technical contact at meetings and prepares and presents information for customer contact as appropriate
Skills & Qualifications:
- PhD in chemistry / chemical technology with 5 years of experience
- Master's Degree in chemistry / chemical technology and 7 years of experiences or
- Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry / chemical technology and 10 years of experience
