Job Purpose

We are looking for a Facilities Engineer and Program Manager to Drive site Quality and Safety Improvements throughout the Troy, Michigan plant. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Key Leadership Role responsible for continuous improvement, Safety Policies to meet MI-OSHA and corporate guidelines, Training, Monthly KPI’s, Security Systems for Building and Equipment
  • Supports Preventative and Predicative Maintenance Programs, Coordinate staff and contractors, monitors repairs and staff assisting ensuring all Lab and Building subsystems are maintained
  • Follow’s AkzoNobel’s Standard Operating Procedures and Government Regulations pertaining to the Removal and Storage of Laboratory waste, recycling, Hazardous Materials and Solvents
  • Organize and maintain Security for staff building access and Security guard after hours
  • Coordinates the maintenance, repair and service of building and lab HVAC systems, air handlers, spray booth operations, processing machinery and testing equipment 
  • Provide a safe work environment by organizing and maintaining clean and safe lab ensuring they meet safety and environmental regulations
  • Oversee the procurement of consumables ensuring cost optimization and seek ways to leverage economies and purchasing protocol
  • Compile and write capital appropriation requests and ensure work is properly coordinated and projects stay on budget
  • Review and interpret proposed designs for capital improvement projects
  • Support the preparation of the building and facilities budget, track spending using KPI and charts and ensure proper action is taken to correct non-conformities
  • Support IT, IM, Finance and Procurement with Building Support
  • Assist with Equipment verifications, validations and calibrations

Required Experience

  • BA Degree in Engineering or Business Management
  • 5 years experience in site management, project management or a related field
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt preferred 
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a matrix organization
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
