Job Purpose

During the Commercial Graduate Rotational Program, candidates will receive on-the-job training across diverse assignments in different business areas for three 9-month rotations. Participants are engaged in a range of learning experiences, including cross-functional assignments, mentoring, assessments, career planning, and networking.   After each rotation, participants will have the opportunity to be deployed to another site within AkzoNobel in the United States.  At the end of the graduate program, based on readiness and performance, participants will be assigned a final role in discussion with the Regional Commercial Leaders from their host sites.

Job Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in all site health, safety, environment, quality and sustainability activities.
  • Use of statistical analysis and appropriate business excellence project management processes to identify areas of significant improvement and develops plans to realize the benefits
  • Investigate root cause of process failures, develop solutions and implement improvement plans.
  • Adopt successful ideas from the external world and designs improved systems to meet business needs.
  • Uses data analysis and problem-solving methodologies
  • Deliver key projects to meet a range of business needs which involves defining requirements, preparing plans, allocating resources and project implementation in line with project management methods and techniques.
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement projects and Identifies improvement opportunities
  • Develop and implement a complete Sales Effectiveness Improvement program to increase market share in the segment and be able to monitor individual performance for each sales territory.  This will also include market mapping and framework development.
  • Develop and present a comprehensive Global Segment Plan for a certain market with recommendations on how to enter and the creation of a tangible Go-To-Market strategy.
  • Support the development and launch of a mobile training app; support the rollout of a digital work management tool; update online training content.  This will entail analyzing customer needs and determine how our digital solutions can meet those needs

Job Requirements

  • New college graduate with a positive attitude – Bachelor (or master’s degree) in Business, Marketing, or Engineering with a strong inclination towards working in commercial programs selling and servicing customers
  • Maximum one-year experience
  • Exhibit high initiative and leadership in student organizations/extracurricular activities
  • Oral and written proficiency in English (universally understood across other countries)
  • Fluent in own local language
  • High learning agility and high adaptability
  • Willing to learn & experience different functions/knowledge. Open & proactive to share and exchange
  • Emotional Quotient (EQ). Healthy / polite challenge of ideas. Confidence
  • Excellent communication skills and inquisitive nature
  • Ability to think on his/her feet; and to influence and work as part of a team
  • Big picture / connectedness. Logical thinking. Analytical skills
  • Desire to live the AkzoNobel values and behaviors and cultural principles.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers, community and other AkzoNobel visitors on a regular basis.
  • Open for domestic mobility and willing to relocate at end of program

Compensation Data

The salary for these skills is: $67,500.
