Job Purpose


This position acts independently and collaborative to determine methods, procedures, activities, and value added outcomes. Adjusts colors, develop new colors, and approve color developments. Ensures that the correct color tools and processes are followed.


  • Color development 25% - 50%
  • Accountable for coordinating, enabling, and executing CI projects that enhance company objectives and principles
  • Accountable for data systems, data trackers, work instructions, and document control
  • Accountable for special projects that improve the overall Color Team
  • Ability to teach new color development
  • Ability to function as project coordinator within color teams
  • Responsible for leading non-color projects with require color knowledge
  • Responsible for developing team members in the use of color tools and color applications

Key Accountabilities


  • Color matcher in any segment of the Color Team
  • Assist in the identification of CI opportunities, development of CI programs, and monitor progress against programs
  • Work on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation
  • Develops and evaluates value stream maps, metrics, and strategic goals to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities on areas such as (but not limited too) non-value, quality, efficiency, safety, and organization
  • Lead contributor for the Color Team in SOP’s, data tracking tools, spreadsheet development, and other data system coordination
  • Works with other R&D teams to deliver results to the customer
  • Internal and external customer facing role involving color
  • Can independently solve issues at onsite customer locations
  • Develops and executes a communication plan to support the rollout and education on continuous improvements
  • Standardizes work practices across all segments of the Color Team
  • Works with leadership in analyzing key performance indicators by implementing DMAIC approach to implement CI projects
  • Supports and/or leads special projects to improve overall Color Team

Required Experience


  • Color development experience is a prerequisite
  • Continuous improvement drive is a must
  • Strong communication skills
  • Chemical background is a plus
  • Color and color software knowledge is a plus
  • Pro-active, pragmatic hands on mentality, positive mentality with a strong drive for ownership and responsibility is a must
  • Ability to work collaboratively and flexible as part of a team and independently when required
  • Able to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines
  • Good computer skills and spreadsheet development
  • Fully comply with all safety, health and environmental guidelines according to site and company standards
