Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to be the frontline salesperson who is responsible for the execution of agreed sales and profitability targets established by the business within the assigned sales area by developing new business and expanding the business with existing customers.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage a portfolio of customers, in a designated area, to execute sales plan
  • Screen customer base for new opportunities, generating leads and maintaining pipeline
  • Provide appropriate and agreed levels of contact, service and support to ensure sales targets are met
  • Monitor sales against agreed targets on a regular basis to ensure they are met and where necessary the need for remedial actions are identified, reported and implemented
  • Collect, report and analyze customer feedback information on present as well as future market trends in the context of possible further market penetration
  • Promote the positive company image and develops long-term relations with the customers
  • Independently prepare  sales presentations, contracts and proposals to ensure successful outcome of transactions
  • Manage claims to minimize liability

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management or related field.  Master of Business Administration in related field preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience in commercial roles, sales and key account management in paints and powder coatings, business-to-business industry, or related field.  Must possess understanding of cross functional processes and financial concepts related to sales and cost to serve
  • Effective problem solving and decision-making skills  
  • Strong customer service, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage projects, create value propositions, and drive results
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel up to 40%.  Overnight travel may be required

This position is a full-time opportunity with AkzoNobel with employee benefits that are effective the first day of employment.

This position will receive an annual base salary and is eligible for an annual 35% bonus.

This position will be assigned a company vehicle.
