- Strategy and policy: Develop HSES (Health Safety Environment and Sustainability) improvement actions and objectives for the site and contribute to the development of the strategy on a level higher
- Year plan/budget: While there are no direct budget responsibilities, he must takeoff the periodic agreements including negotiations for the site environmental and safety equipment annual contracts
- Organization development: Evaluate organizational design, (work)processes and systems and initiate and implement changes and improvements on a continuous basis.
- People management and development: Attract, lead, coach, appraise and develop employees, on safety systems, procedure and ensure rewards and recognition programs for all staff including contract workmen on site
- Knowledge and information management: Keep up with internal and external developments on HSES matters, best practices and ensure development, transfer and retention of knowledge and information
- Management information: Provide insights regarding quantitative and qualitative developments on key leading and lagging HSES KPI’s by means of periodical and ad hoc reports and/or analyses
- Relations management: Build and maintain a network of in- and external stakeholders/partners (pollution control board, factory inspector etc) and represent the organization
- Projects: Define, plan, manage and co-ordinate assigned (portfolio of) projects and ensure execution
Guide site management to develop and ensure implementation of corporate HSES policies, Safety improvement year plan and (best) practices for the site.
Contribute to the development of strategy on a one level higher entity, in line with corporate guidelines, (business)plans and strategy, in order to ensure the realization of (strategic) objectives of the assigned unit.
Along with site management, act as change agent for HSE&S culture and continuous improvement and role- model for ensuring compliance with HSE&S policy and procedures.
Manage people and development and stimulate talent(management).
Policy Strategy: Formulates, signs off guidelines and procedures and implements standards for functional discipline.
Influencing skills: Can explain and convince internal and external parties beyond content driven arguments and is able to appeal to interest, culture and level of others
HSE&S agenda: Significantly contributes to one specific area of HSE&S agenda (2 years ahead)
HSE&S processes: Has good knowledge of and signs off processes within own HSE&S discipline considering the relation with other disciplines on SBU level within defined HSE&S framework
Legal compliances – Must we well aware of legal requirements from a Safety and Sustainability perspective, including the latest changes. Must be able to establish strong relationships with statutory bodies.
