Qualifications

  • A university diploma with an engineering or Life Sciences background,
  • Preferably NACE or Frosio certification,
  • An understanding of inspection skills and procedures, 
  • Understanding of quality-control and/or the anticorrosive coating industry, 
  • Ability to pay attention to detail to ensure compliance and quality, 
  • Ability to make decisions independently and organize own work, 
  • Strong customer and commercial focus,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, 
  • Diplomatic, and able to resolve conflict by being fair and objective
  • IT skills (Outlook/ Word/ Excel) 
  • English is essential. 

Job Description

  • Advising on paint specification and providing recommendations for preparation and application methods,
  • Liaising between colleagues, the Account Executive, the owner’s representative, the customer, and contractors,
  • Ensuring all relevant documentation is available prior to meeting customers and starting projects,
  • Providing technical advice and information on products as requested,
  • Carrying out random inspections at every stage of the coating project in relation to surface preparation, environmental monitoring, and paint application to ensure conformity to the specification,
  • Completing PC standard reports accurately and promptly, and keeping a daily logbook of all site and project details, 
  • Ensuring the timely delivery of paint, 
  • Supporting the sales staff by introducing new products or suggesting alternative coating system,
  • Protecting AkzoNobel’s interests by being in attendance on site, as required, to carry out inspections, clearly represent the company position in case of disputes and issue disclaimer letters when required, 
  • Representing the company in a professional and ethical manner at all times, 
  • Complying with technical service specific company HSE rules.
