Job Purpose

  • Developing and sustaining a culture of continuous improvement (CI) and knowledge about related methodologies/ activities (Just Do it, PDCA, Lean Six Sigma) across all functions, GBS and Non GBS, in GBS shared service center.
  • Core responsibilities includes executing and delivering CI deliverables set up by the Global CI team and Regional CI Manager
  • Drive value to the GBS by improving the real result key performance indicators by
  • Fostering CI skillsets by building, executing and reevaluating training needs & roadmaps for all levels in GBS organization by closely working with Regional CI Manager
  • Driving ideations top down and bottoms up in partnership with operations
  • Building and maintaining ideation and project trackers, including measurements
  • Partnering with Regional CI Manager in incorporating CI Methodologies - including coaching strategic initiatives
  • Custodian of CI Ambassador roles for the Site and associated towers including coaching and skill development on CI Methodogies in initiatives
  • Support Regional CI Manager for CI culture optimization in partnership with the GBS Site lead and RDPLs
  • Drivers of Regional CI governance council for CI related activities for all the towers in site
  • Support Global CI Function/Tower lead for the identified initiatives with in GBS Function
    • Execute and drive Excellerate sessions/strategic initiatives for a tower
    • Support Global Governance for GPDL for all trainings and initiatives for the tower.
    • Support and execute one of two strategic initiatives for the tower in partnership with GPC

Key Accountabilities

Developing and sustaining a culture of continuous improvement (CI) and knowledge about related methodologies/ activities (Just Do it, PDCA, Lean Six Sigma) across all functions, GBS and Non GBS, in shared service center.

  • Change Agent of applying continuous improvement tools and methods (Just Do it, PDCA, Lean, six sigma) and promote a structured problem-solving approach.
  • Active participation in Goal setting and accountabilities for CI and Operational goals, to best achieve the targets for the key performance indicators
  • Drive Proactive and Reactive governance support to report out CI updates
  • Support in deployment and sustenance of CI program including a coaching support structure to drive CI initiatives and ensure sustainability of improvements
  • Partner with Service Excellence teams on Business Impacts, RPA Automations and Business Process Management to provide holistic experience to GBS
  • Partner with Global AkzoNobel faculty and Global L&D to continuously align on competency requirements support and upskilling needs


  • 8+ years of experience working in fast pace multicultural environment, ideally in SSC/GBS structures, preferably within Finance domain
  • 5+ years of experience in lean and six sigma methodology with the proven track record of delivering high value (1M USD+ preferred) improvement projects
  • Black Belt six sigma trained and certified or in the phase of certification
  • Preferable a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in Finance but not a deal breaker
  • Available to work under severe time pressure and delivering on agreed deadlines
  • Excellent communication, presentation and conflict resolution skills on all organizational levels; ability to gain respect and trust through situational leadership and integrity and inspire others to follow and participate in the change process
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Sharepoint, Visio, Minitab etc.), able to prepare various forms of CI communication to the various audiences
  • Full professional proficiency in English
