Job Purpose

To manage the daily activities of the Quality Control department within the Powder Coatings plant. Ensure that products supplied to customers meet their expectations by managing the testing requirements for all intermediates and finished goods. Collaborate with various departments such as the operations, technical and sales departments to ensure products produced are of the intended quality and satisfies customer requirements.

Key Accountabilities

Review, update, develop and make accessible the quality procedures within the quality department of the powder coatings plant to ensure compliance to relevant ISO and Automotive standards.

Oversee testing of production batches to ensure timely results, according to the quality policy, customer requirements and OH&S plan.

Investigate and recommend corrective and preventative actions for any quality concerns and issues relating to production batches, within the guidelines of the laboratory standard operating procedures and technical specifications, so that concerns are rectified.

Ensure transparency of Quality department and that all activities resulting from quality audits are completed within the specified time frame to ensure compliance to relevant ISO and Automotive standards.

Provide advice to Technical / Operations in relation to production and quality issues so that relevant KPI’s can be met.

Experience

Approved Degree in Chemistry or related discipline. (Or relevant industry experience).    
Must have experience within a quality control department.
Competency in Microsoft Office Programs    
Familiar with manufacturing or application of coatings.
Must have people management experience.
