Job Purpose

The Research and Development Project Leader/Researcher will serve as the technical leader for Stage-Gate Express projects, leading work within the Research, Development, and Innovation (RD&I) work stream.  Will deliver on projects with substantial, complex scopes and high levels of technical difficulty or ensure delivery of multiple projects of narrower scope. Will also plan and run production trials at production sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • To execute, report and manage Stage-Gate Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) projects in business unit. Will set scope and develop project plan, business case and tactical plan in packaging for food and beer and beverage in line with the strategy, project and functional standards ensuring a successful delivery of the aimed project result.
  • Manage and plan relevant departmental budget, proactively managing the costs and ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and Compliance regulations.
  • Act as a focal point and present project progress, based on milestones, exceptions and deliverables on a regular basis to stakeholders.
  • Identify new product/process optimization and technical solutions for business unit.
  • Expand and develop the team’s knowledge concerning the chemistry and formulation within the business unit.
  • Support production and procurement with recommendations of recipes and raw materials.

 

Job Requirements

  • Education and experience must include one of the following:
    • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related field with 8 years' Research and Development experience in coating formulation, polymer analysis, and/or data analysis.
    • Master of Science in Chemistry or related field with 5 years' Research and Development experience in coating formulation, polymer analysis, and/or data analysis.
    • Doctor of Science in Chemistry or related field with 2 years' Research and Development experience in coating formulation, polymer analysis, and/or data analysis.
  • Strong statistical analysis and data analysis skills.
  • Experience working with product development, project management and conducting production trials preferred.  
  • Serve as a role model of safe work environment practices.
  • Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to work with cross-functional groups (sales, marketing, supply chain).
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% as required.

Total Compensation

The salary range for these skills is $105,000 - $115,000.  This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.  This salary range may also be modified in the future.
