Job Purpose

To execute, report and manage medium-sized Research, Development, and Innovation projects within business unit. Will set scope and develop project plan, business case and execution tactical plan within packaging portfolio in line with the departmental strategy, project and functional standards ensuring a successful delivery of the aimed project result.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define project plan including scope, milestones and deliverables.  Will manage execution and delivery within the agreed timeline, budget and scope. 
  • Lead, coach and appraise a team of indirect reports that are assigned to a project. Will provide feedback to the hierarchical manager. 
  • Ensure end-to-end project management incorporating relevant experiments, methodology and tools, intellectual property, knowledge development and customer needs in compliance with AkzoNobel project management standards.
  • Guide and train team members in technical know-how within the Packaging Portfolio that includes formulation, understanding of raw materials and testing.
  • Understand safety and regulatory implications for customers and /or Production.  Will ensure safe operations at a project level.
  • Ensure that all activity is carried out according to the valid Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and risk assessments.  Will ensure accuracy of procedures and assessments.  Will also train team members on their use.
     

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or related field.  Master of Science degree preferred.
  • 3 years' experience in chemical engineering, organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, physical chemistry, coating technology, or related field.
  • 5 years’ experience working with product development, project management and running production trials.
  • Knowledgeable of manufacturing processes, raw materials, recipes, and customer processes.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional groups (sales, marketing, supply chain).
  • Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Ability to travel up at 15% as required.
     

Total Compensation

The salary range for these skills is $90,000 - $100,000.  This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.  This salary range may also be modified in the future.
