R&D Chemistry Industrial Placement – multiple positions available
1 Year placement starting July 2021
Slough, Berkshire SL2 5DS
£15,840 per annum plus relocation allowance**

The internship opportunities within our business are geared towards providing you with a challenging experience. Working as part of a successful team on ‘real life’ projects you’ll be mentored by experienced professionals. With their support you will develop your analytical and team working skills, see how academic theory is applied in a corporate environment and make a real contribution to the success of the business. Day-to-day you will support the execution of R&D technical projects for the benefit our Decorative Paints business.

We have roles available in our fast-paced product development team; these will involve following standard procedures to complete projects to agreed schedules as well as writing basic test reports and presenting findings. We also have one role available in the Analytical & Materials Characterisation team, where you will work alongside experienced analysts on a wide range of advanced instruments to support all parts of R&D with analytical testing and method development. Alongside this, appropriate training will be provided on theory, equipment and software to enable you to succeed in your placement.

To be considered you must have achieved a minimum of 300 UCAS points (or equivalent) and be a high achiever and expecting a minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent* on a course that offers you the option of taking a Year in Industry.  Your degree subject area should be relevant such as Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Materials Science

 

Good at following procedures and working safely you will also need strong PC skills, an eye for detail and be an effective team worker. We’re looking for someone who has ideas and the energy and determination to make them happen; someone who wants to work in an international environment and find solutions to the big challenges facing the world.
