Brand Building Manager (Assistant Brand Manager) – Pre-deco & Hammerite
Location: Slough
We’re looking for a Brand Building Manager – Pre-Deco & Hammerite to lead one of our important consumer brand segments to drive sustainable growth across the UK market. In this role, you will run the Pre-Deco & Hammerite paint segment as your own business, shaping local vision and strategy and driving activation plans that delivers short- and long-term brand performance.

You will be partnering closely with sales, customer teams, and EMEA brand colleagues to strengthen brand preference, accelerate growth, and bring relevant innovation to market.
What you’ll do:
• Own and lead the Pre-Deco & Hammerite paint segment locally, driving the brand and commercial agenda to deliver sustainable growth in market share, GIV, and volume.
• Develop and deliver the annual local Pre-Deco & Hammerite paint brand plan, ensuring alignment with business unit mandates, commercial priorities, and the wider EMEA roadmap.
• Work closely with Sales and Category teams to track brand, category and commercial performance, identifying key drivers, risks and opportunities.
• Analyse sales, market share, consumer and shopper data to generate actionable insights.
• Support forecasting, business planning and performance reviews.
• Work closely with Sales and Category teams to ensure marketing plans are commercially relevant and effectively activated with customers.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams throughout the innovation and launch process.
• Use consumer and commercial insight to identify portfolio and growth opportunities.
• Support development of launch plans, positioning, communications and in-market activation.
• Build strong working relationships across Marketing, Sales, Category, Finance, Insights, Supply Chain and other key functions.
• Take ownership of projects and proactively drive actions through to completion.
• Contribute to local commercial and operational plans, while sharing market opportunities and insights with the EMEA brand and category teams.
• Lead the local execution of Pre-Deco & Hammerite paint operating and commercial plans, including activations, new product introductions, and complexity reduction initiatives.
• Own local Pre-Deco & Hammerite paint NPI projects agreed on the EMEA roadmap and ensure effective execution of key strategic initiatives in market.
• Localise international campaigns in line with brand guidelines to maximise relevance and impact in the local market.
• Drive the commercial success of campaigns and brand-building activity by ensuring the right communications driving brand visibility, engagement, and commercial performance.
• Keep local product documentation accurate, up to date, and compelling for customers and stakeholders.
• Evaluate campaign and NPI performance, using data and insight to improve ROI and strengthen future activity.
• Lead assortment mix analysis and management, optimising the local portfolio and product mix within the country.
What you bring:
• Degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience) in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
• Experience in brand building/marketing roles at an assistant brand manager level.
• Strong data and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate performance and identify actions to improve results.
• A growth mindset and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and driving continuous improvement.
• Proven project management and implementation experience with strong organizational skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
