Job Purpose

Position to be based in Singapore.

 

Head of HR

  • Ensures daily steering of HR activities in Singapore, Thailand and SEA markets (Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Brunei) “cluster”, to deliver in line with budget on our customers’ high expectations.
  • Brings the HR strategy and targets to life by developing, implementing and maintaining the HR processes and HR services consistent with the global Center of Expertise (CoE) processes and the Global Business Services (GBS) Service Catalogue.
  • Provide leadership, management and oversight to cluster HR organization and to the SEA cluster Leadership Team on the execution of the HR strategy in cluster.
  • Build and maintain capability of the HR organizations in cluster – which is likely to grow in the near future.

 

HR Business Partnering

Provides HR partnership & expertise to the Business Management Team in achieving their business agenda for cluster, including but not limited to workforce planning, organizational design and performance management. 

Responsibilities

Responsible for the performance and management of the cluster HR organization, ensuring SLA/KPI defined service delivery to management and employees of AkzoNobel.

 

Head of HR

  • Oversees the ongoing operation and collaboration of the HR function in cluster (HR BP, Local CoEs and People Services) to assure economies of scale are maximized and service levels are attained/maintained
  • Deploys and implements country/cluster HR Strategy and prioritize the HR projects, in line with the business, corporate and regional HR strategy
  • Provides input to regional HR Strategy from cluster perspective
  • Consults and provides HR functional perspective on project activities such as transformation, mergers, acquisitions/divestitures and joint ventures
  • Grows the individuals and the teams by clear feedback, trust, focusing on strengths and a climate where learning from mistakes and each other’s best practices is the norm.
  • Drives the implementation of the HR Operating Model in cluster, including change management, standardization and harmonization of HR practises
  • Responsible for annual cluster HR budget, follow up of actual costs and for taking applicable actions when required from a cost perspective
  • Influencing regional CoE ensuring the voice of the cluster is heard
  • Ensures optimal alignment with the Business Units (BU)/Function agenda
  • Manages and channels performance feedback and ensures continuous improvement of the HR delivery
  • Manages Industrial / Labor Relations in cluster in line with BU/Function/Global requirements to ensure the position of AkzoNobel is optimally leveraged
  • Ensures compliance and adherence to Code of Conduct and leads by example
  • Drives the Employer Value Proposition (EVP), including D&I

 

Responsibilities (Continue)

 

HR Business Partnering

  • Provides HR partnership & expertise to the various Business leaders and Teams in achieving cluster business agenda
  • Acts as coach and counsel to leaders to create the right culture and organizational model. Challenge management and act as a mirror (incl. employee engagement, Values and Leadership Behaviors and drive a strong performance management culture
  • Supports with Workforce Planning to build a strong and sustainable human capital in order to support the strategy and further growth of the organization in SMT cluster
  • Helps leaders to identify, calibrate, develop and deploy talent across the organization. Identify, evaluate and manage talent risks
  • Supports & coaches leaders in the assessment and management of the individual and team performance and development
  • Drives BU/Function specific initiatives in the cluster to support business sales and growth according to the Annual Operating Plan

 

Requirements

  • Academic background with deep functional knowledge and HR expertise
  • Proven track record in delivering results in an international matrix organization
  • Catalyst for change with the ability to drive on all levels in the organization
  • Leadership competence; developing teams and individuals to such extend that the total is bigger than the sum of the individuals
  • Excellent communication, empathic skills, stakeholder management and organizational sensitivity
  • Proven track record in handling government and labor relations/grievances in the cluster.
  • Experience with coaching and influencing senior stakeholders and facilitation high performance teams workshops
  • Hands-on can-do attitude, who can keep course while dealing with ambiguity and the various priorities and stakes in the cluster and function
  • Leads from a core set of personal values and sense of purpose in line with the AkzoNobel core values and behaviors
