Project Leader

Job Purpose

1. Manger and prioritize the technical requirement for beverage and beer end Segment and responsible for the outcome and make sure the business strategy is implemented properly for that segment.
2. Plans and executes complex development projects after receiving objectives and general background data.
3. In executing the project, performs the full range of standardized and non-standardized laboratory tasks without supervision; selects and conducts experiments and tests needed and modifies them as required.
4. Analyzes and interprets the results of experiments, using routine and specialized calculations; modifies the direction and/or extent of the project as indicated by interpretation of the results.

Key Accountabilities

• Plan and manage the technical requests for BE segment according to business strategy for the segment. Set up proper priority and make sure these works execute according to the plan.
• Plan, manage and implement assigned complex projects through SG/SGE/LWR process with appropriate documents. Analyze the technical aspects of projects and determine the methods and techniques to be used in completing the project. Ensure RDI part of project is carried out smoothly with timely update and delivery of objectives on yearly basis.
• Work closely with regional and global RD&I group and PS to develop new products, transfer new technology and products from lab testing to scale-up manufacturing and customer initial application.
• Performs all types of analyses, tests, and investigations in connection with determining properties of materials or new product development.
• Conduct presentation to external customers.
• Maintain product portfolio and conduct formulation optimization/modification upon customer requirements.
• Assist in the development of product portfolio for roadmap for B3/FCG
• Follow up and participate in audition of the procedure of new raw material introduction with complaints to AN policy and local regulatory. Maintain knowledge of current raw materials.
• Work with purchasing and manufacture team to identify value creation opportunities. Assess the risk and conduct comparison lab test following up MOC procedure.

Key Activities

• Verify formulation related customer complaints and make corrective and preventive actions accordingly.
• Communicate actively with and provide technical support to other functions to ensure sharing of information to achieve business objectives.
• Ensure SOM/SOP of lab apparatus and equipment is available. Maintain lab 5s.
• Ensure all activities in the area of responsibility are conducted under AkzoNobel HSE, ISO9000, internal quality standards, customer quality/performance requirements, intellectual property, and Product Stewardship requirements with the spirit of continuous improvement.
• Active participation in SHE meetings to improve SHE awareness.
• Commits to performing all tasks in a safe manner.
• Follows all SHE policies and uses appropriate PPE.
• Reminds others of unsafe acts to help avoid accidents and lost time, watches others’ safety.
• Reports observed safety issues immediately.
• Conducts routine behavioral safety checks using appropriate checklists.

Experience

• Proven track record of safe working habits.
• Minimum Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or Polymer
• Proven problem solving abilities.
• Excellent organization, project and time management skills
• Comfortable working independently and within groups. Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to deliver on plans.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• The ability to work in a matrix organization.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills in both Chinese and English.
• Proficient in computer application
• Minimum 5-10 years of technical experience in coating related industry,
• Knowledge or experience of Packaging Coatings is Preferred
