Job Purpose

• Manage and ensure the formats can run on the filling lines able to meet line performance and meeting product quality standards incl. secondary and tertiary packaging

• Deliver savings on the packsaging portfolio

• Drive harmonization of packaging portfolio 

• Manage and resolve issues related to packaging when escalated by the sites, customer complaints, etc.

• Build knowledge and experience and establish best practice to be able to serve as “champion”in the packaging area. 

Key Accountabilities

• Review and manage a packaging portfolio working with key stakeholders ie. commercial, manufacturing, procurement, etc. ensure functional requirements are fulfilled.

• Develop and share the best pratice and guidance to the sites, warehouses and transportation/shipping service providers.

• Drive harmonization and standardization of the portfolio • Support procurement to have packaging supply for key packs by developing dual supply

• Support for ,and deliver, savings on the packaging portfolio • Leads packaging improvement projects within own discipline defines project scope, and/or participates in large projects

• Organize the compatibility tests and filling & packaging trials for products and packs ensuring packaging and product quality and line performance in manufacturing and throughout the supply chain • Provide 2nd line technical support, working with relevant functions, when issues arise and liaise with site ,suppliers and quality and perform root cause analyses and provide solutions. Prevent and/or limit impact on customers.

• Understand relevant manufacturing capabilities and requirements for filling and packaging lines (incl. artwork & secondary packaging) .

• Audit suppliers and seek improvements and resolutions where possible and required working with procurement. 

Experience

• Technical engineering degree BSc/MSc or equivalent

• At least 10 years experience working in a product manufacturing environment, as an manager or senior engineer/ specilist

• Experience with managing an industrial packaging portfolio understanding specifications, functional requirements in production, product/packaging compatibility and distribution.

• Experience with packaging quality management and continuous improvement

• Has good knowledge and experience of engineering disciplines (e.g. Chemical or Mechanical) 

• Selfstarter with strong organizational skills and structured approach

• Experience with and ability to work with various functions ie. R&D, Procurement, production and logisitc, etc.. 

• Having worked in a multinational environment with sensitivity to different cultural behaviours

• Working at a regional level supporting more sites and willing to travel 

• Excellent communication skills. Fluent in English
