Job Purpose

Responsible for AN's regional raw material sourcing (including strategy, supplier selection and relationship management), as well as spend management (business awarding, contracting, risk management, QDCIS improvement) for €32M Spend of the Additives Category and its associated supplier base in the North Asia Region.

Key Accountabilities

Developing and implementing sourcing activities in the region in alignment with AN’s objectives and ALPS Source, such as:

  • Responsible for commercial activities including contract negotiation, management, development, approval, implementation and maintenance.
  • Creating and deploying applicable regional sourcing strategies per the category roadmap, contributing to global sourcing strategies as regional representative,
  • Responsible for world-class supplier relationship management of key suppliers in the portfolio, directly managing Key suppliers for his/her area of responsibility
  • Acting as key interface between sourcing and regional RD&I teams (supplier innovation pipeline optimization and contribution to NPI support)
  • Developing a pipeline of PR TCO reduction projects per AN Sourcing Financial objectives, and drive project maturing until execution by the regional Procurement team.
  • Implementing Procurement Excellence within his/her area of responsibility.
  • Regional raw material markets expertise, monitoring and forecasting; Translating developments from the regional market into opportunities, including other regions
  • Managing supply risk, supporting escalated supply issues resolution
  • Delegating applicable local and tail spend
  • Upon assignment by the Sourcing Director: KSM for key global supplier(s) based in the region, global category management of a subcategory concentrated in his/region
  • Represent the global category in regional cross-functional forums and programs (Eg IBP, NPI, CM management, regional procurement programs and reviews) #LI-BL1


  • 5 years in a procurement, purchasing, or sourcing function (part of it in R&D, Ops or SC management also valued), preferably in the chemical/coating/automotive industries.
  • Category/Commodity/Spend Area management with experience in developing and deploying sourcing strategies
  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in Science, Engineering or Business management; CPM or MBA preferred.
  • Relevant experience in negotiating, contracting and managing regional suppliers at a Senior Level
  • Proven success in driving supplier cost, quality and delivery performance improvement programs
  • Understanding of the category in terms of suppliers, market trends and technologies in the region preferred.
