Job Purpose

This job is a combined role of Solution Architect and Project Consultant with a focus on SAP Sales and Distribution. The Solution Architect is responsible to translate functional requirements into a solution and describing it through architecture and designs. The architecture and designs are expected to be in line with business processes and architectural standards, guidelines & roadmaps. The Project Consultant is responsible for delivery and solution realization and enabling the execution of projects, managed by the project manager

The role reports into the Functional Domain Lead Marketing & Sales in the Center of Expertise.
The Center of Expertise IM is responsible for providing sustainable, efficient, robust and secured   workplace & core IT solutions. In addition, the team will be responsible to train, educate and ensure the right capabilities are available to meet the business project and major change needs. The CoE is responsible to match resource demand with supply, to ensure delivery of required resources and that target utilization rate of the resources is met. 


•    Supports BI&VM in writing project charters (IPM SG0-2) and builds and maintains a close contact with BV&IM organization and the global GPO network for this purpose
•    Translates business demand into (detailed) requirements and appropriate solutions within the functional area, within agreed EA roadmaps
•    Performs impact assessments on business demand and high level requirements to uncover and mitigate gaps with strategy, policy, guidelines, budget and operational supportability 
•    Performs complex analysis (e.g. scenario analysis), on own and other impacted domains and advise on business impact, (process) optimization, implementation planning and approach, cost and effort
•    Designs and documents moderately/complex “fit for purpose” solutions using a structured approach and approved template models
•    Ensures quality and consistency with template design for deployments
•    Drives implementation of solutions in adherence with the solution design
•    Actively use and promote best practice solutions 
•    Manages a variety of - groups of - stakeholders across AkzoNobel
•    Sparring partner for senior management who will and can challenge senior management regarding primary processes and projects and strategic IM issues
•    Monitors the market to obtain knowledge and understanding of currently emerging technologies in own area of expertise and evaluates benefits and relevance for AkzoNobel
•    Supports the staffing process for architects on BIM related work
•    Recognizes potential strategic application of IT solutions/assets to the benefit of AkzoNobel
•    Is able to make use of best practice solutions
•    Anticipates major changes affecting the organization and mobilizes resources
•    Drives knowledge management and value extraction within the functional domain
•    Responsible for solution realization in projects

•    Contribute to the realization of the solution in close collaboration with the project team, the project manager, Solution Architects and business stakeholders
•    Work under operational guidance of project managers to plan and execute projects according to the CIO office guidelines and IM processes 
•    Supports the project manager in delivering the project within the defined scope, time utilization and budget
•    Provide functional expertise in the project in the relevant domain.
•    Work with the (Solution) Architecture team to ensure that standards are implemented consistently
•    Provide knowledge and project experience back to Solution Architecture teams 
•    Identification, analysis, mapping and documentation of information needs of current and future processes/systems
•    Ensures that requirements defined in solution description are implemented accordingly
•    Identify, handle and resolve project delivery issues in the associated (business) domain
•    Anticipating issues and acting proactively to address potential issues
•    Collecting and updating project status materials
•    Managing project products and configuration management for deliverables such as process flows, specifications and functional/technical designs
•    Work with users to ensure the project meets business needs
•    Facilitate user testing and user acceptance testing
•    Facilitate user training and workshops
•    Cooperate and collaborate with GBS-IM on Service Introduction management
•    Brings AkzoNobel specific knowledge on processes and systems into the projects
•    Execute major changes, as part of the change management process
•    coordination of major changes in the change management process


Experience / Education
•    Master/ Bachelor degree in business management, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field of study
•    At least 10 years of experience in the IT sector in general and with more than 5 years implementation experience in SAP SD, related integrations and ideally with other parts of SAP solutions such as LE, CS or FiCo
•    Knowledge of and experience with generic SAP components such as EDI and SAP transport management
•    Expressing deep and broad knowledge of architecture, IT security, (technology) platforms and business processes for the specific functional domain and with (comparable) business environments 
•    Solid solution architecture experience with business process modeling and/or infrastructure / application architecture design frameworks (TOGAF), tools, technologies, methodologies
•    Knowledge and practical skills in best practice solutions in the shared solutions space
•    Knowledge of the process industry and relevant application(s) in functional domain
•    Experience with consulting or business roles
