Job Purpose

The Solution Architect R&D is responsible for translating requirements into solutions and describing it through architectures and designs. The architectures and designs are expected to be in-line with business processes and architectural standards, guidelines & roadmaps.

 

The Solution Architect reports into the Functional Domain Lead Innovate in the Center of Expertise IM (CoE IM). The CoE IM is responsible for providing sustainable, efficient, robust and secure IT solutions. In addition, the team will be responsible to train, educate and ensure the right capabilities are available to meet the business project and major change needs. In addition, the CoE IM is responsible to match resource demand with supply, to ensure delivery of required resources and that target utilization rate of the resources is met. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop new and co-maintain existing Business, Information Systems and Technology architectures for Innovate solutions in many areas including but not limited to raw material portfolio management, technical product data management, lab solutions, etc;
  • Propose policies, standards, new technology services and components for solutions;
  • Agile methodologies (e.g. DevOps, Scrum, Kanban);
  • Manage the lifecycle of Innovate solutions and develop roadmaps;
  • Assess risks (continuity, financial, security, other terms and conditions for usage) of solutions and define mitigations;
  • Identify and promote opportunities for solutions to replace existing solutions or fulfil new (business) needs;
  • Knowledge and experience with the Innovate domain (Research & Development and Innovate);
  • Solid solution architecture experience with modeling (ArchiMate, DMN, BPMN), technologies, methodologies;
  • Architecture tools (Sparx Enterprise Architect or other);
  • Development Tools (Visual Studio, Azure DevOps or other).

Experience

  • Knowledge and experience with the Innovate domain (Research & Development and Innovate;
  • Solid solution architecture experience with modeling (TOGAF, ArchiMate, ERD, DMN, BPMN), technologies, methodologies;
  • Architecture tools (Sparx Enterprise Architect or other);
  • Development Tools (Visual Studio, Azure DevOps or other);
  • Agile methodologies (e.g. DevOps, Scrum, Kanban);
  • Master/ Bachelor degree in business management, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field of study;
  • Around 10 years of experience in the IT sector in general and with more than 5 years experience in the respective technical domain, expressing deep and broad knowledge of architecture, IT security (technology) platforms and business processes for the specific technical domain and with (comparable) business environments;
  • Knowledge of the process industry and relevant technological developments in the respective technical domain;
  • Experience with consulting or business roles.
