Job Purpose


Senior Technician Commercial Vehicles


The purpose of the role is to provide leadership and direction for the technical team as well as supporting the country managers and the North European Manager with technical expertise to the major key accounts. Acting as a technical director in many accounts to the locally based technicians, contributes to the generation of sales, expense and profitability targets set by the Business Unit.
This key role sits on the MT for Commercial Vehicle (CV) Region North (5 countries) and reports into the Sales Manager for Commercial Vehicles North. The position is open to anyone in North Europe but living in or near the Netherlands would be advantageous. 

The seasoned technician will be experienced in the application and environments of the Commercial Vehicles.  Their knowledge gained in CV Bodyshops, paint facilities and OEM manufacture and will be well versed in all application types of coatings onto CV Substrates.

The position would suit a skilled CV Technician with excellent communication, training and demonstrating skills who is looking for the next step to forward their career by being able to concentrate on the larger, key customers and projects.  The candidate must be prepared to travel.

Key Accountabilities


  • Regularly communicates to the field force the latest news regarding technical bulletins and developments, including standards and best practices
  • Support the field CV technicians in their roles
  • Assist in investigating and dealing with Complaint Handling internally and externally
  • Assist the Technical Sales Representatives and carryout troubleshooting technical issues at end users
  • Communicating Technical Data Sheets requirements from central to field and field to central to the Regional Technical Manager
  • Works with and communicates to the field force best practices and application processes 
  • Support with demonstrations of paint / non-paint application techniques and transfers the knowledge on commercial vehicle repair processes as well as on technical problem solving to the customers
  • Coordinates and supervises the product test market evaluation
  • Coordinates the implementation of new products / technologies, color, technical services and processes
  • Provides information to the field force on the competitors’ product and repair systems
  • Assisting in assessing the level of technical skills of the field force and customers and proposes the action plan to address development
  • Deliver training modules both technical and service orientated as per the EMEA technical manuals 
  • Support the implementation of the Fleet Specifications with repair processes and input on warranties
  • Gets familiar with all the applicable corporate as well as site policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct/ Health Safety & Environment standards and acts in compliance with all their regulations
  • Communicate any changes in regulations regarding the refinishing of road vehicles both for repairers and builders
  • Be prepared to conduct tasks in an international environment
  • Use Customer Dynamics (IT system)  to regularly input visits, products, equipment, training, opportunities, threats and register complaint handling
  • Be Knowledgeable on technical expertise (application, equipment, market intelligence)
Experience & Qualifications


  • expert in paint and spraying applications
  • experience with spraying
  • 10 years relevant experience at a multi-national or OEM
  • very good communications skills; to be able to communicate with different levels
  • willing to travel up to 40%
  • very good English language skills and preferably good Dutch language skills
