Job Purpose

As Planner at our site in Sassenheim you are responsible for sequencing the released production and filling orders in the most optimal way for the production site, by minimizing change-over times while matching available capacity and taking into account raw material availability. You will be responsible to react to changes in the schedule and adjust the schedule while optimizing the cost to the site and minimizing the effect to the customer.



  • Support production planning by converting the final plan for facilities and equipment into a feasible schedule for manufacturing;
  • Sequence process orders according to the agreed operational rules, including priority requests;
  • Manage flow through the factory by monitoring progress of schedule against plan and taking countermeasures where necessary;
  • Make sure that all administrative steps are completed to allow for production to process the orders, such as printing labels, stickers, lists, etc where applicable';
  • Responsible for system hygiene, ensuring the correct closure of the different production phases, correct consumption of materials (monitor failed goods movements and open reservations) and maintaining start- and finish dates according to the latest schedule. If needed take the appropriate actions, like inventory corrections, master data adustments etc.;
  • Identify and react to changes in the schedule. Adjust the schedule and align with Manufacturing and Planning to have a revised realistic schedule. Agree on mitigation actions;
  • Support production in stock taking and cycle counting, by printing counting lists and processing the outcomes accordingly;
  • Actively participate in the MDI meeting, raise potential risks and execute actions coming from this meeting;
  • Be the link between Planning and Manufacturing, balancing the needs on both sides in the most optimal way and provide both sides with the information needed to act accordingly;
  • Continuously improve Scheduling processes in order to mature the processes.


Who are we looking for?

  • Vocational level (MBO) with several years of experience in a similar position;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Good at building relationships with stakeholders within AkzoNobel;
  • Thinking in possibilities and good problem solving skills;
  • Data analysis;
  • Striving for improvement and focused on processes.
