Purpose of the Job

To prepare, execute and analyze output of practical experiments, in line with the department and functional standards. As part of a project team contribute to the realization of objectives of projects. Can act as a local designee of an assigned part of the VR product portfolio

Key Responsibilities

•    Maintains and promotes a safe work environment, complies with safety policies and
procedures. Follows safe work practices for personal and equipment safety, in both
the laboratory and in the field. End results are zero or minimum safety incidents and a
clean, orderly working environment
•    Works according to quality standards as set by Labmanagement (for example ISO 9001)
•    Sets-up, plans, executes, analyzes, interprets and reports experiments within own unit. 
•    Executes test programs (characterization of paint, preparation panels, apply paint, system testing, color measurements etc) and works closely with service departments
•    Documents lab results through appropriate means including laboratory notebooks, interim and full reports, project meeting minutes, and monthly summaries. When visiting customers and or suppliers, writes reports with corresponding action items
•    Is familiar with characterization techniques, e.g. mechanical and chemical techniques
•    Can act as a local designee and has a leading role in decision taking with respect to production support.
•    Keeps currently used methods up to date and improves relevant research methods in the field.
•    Is able to identify of trends (SQC) and root causes (8D-RCA) of quality problems with existing assortment
•    Identifies new product/process optimization, technical solutions and new application opportunities for own area/domain and shares these with management
•    Formulates and presents solution directions and issues advice at request or at own initiative
•    Performs activities in cooperation with other departments (like procurement, marketing, operations, application research, PSRA) and other production locations to support research activities
•    Functional guidance of technician / specialist level team members.
•    Can serve as local designee towards local production for part of product portfolio

What do you bring?

Academic education level (MSc or higher) in Science, preferably Chemistry or Physics – or comparable experience / working level.
