Job Purpose

In this role you will provide regulatory expertise and contribute to the execution regarding the information/dossier development, product registration and lifecycle management of biocidal products in Europe.

You will be expected to interact with various functions in the organization as appropriate to secure and maintain biocide product authorizations and registrations in Europe. As well as you'll be required to interact effectively with the relevant competent authorities to ensure the timely  approval of registration actions and compliance with other regulatory demands.

 

Key responsibilities include

  • Acting as a registration expert on Biocidal products registered or to be registered in Europe; securing and maintaining company biocide registrations according to the business plan and in compliance with EU regulations
  • Providing advice, analysis and expertise in EU Biocidal Products regulation (BPR) to internal stakeholders (RnD, Marketing, others).
  • Determining, negotiating and communicating registration requirements regarding data, documentation and other supporting information (& their format) to internal stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to create new and update existing product registration dossiers, assessing adequacy of data  to bring them into line with the BPR.
  • Communicating with regulatory authorities as and when necessary throughout the submission and review process.
  • Maintain centrally relevant legal database for the legally required period of time.

 

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor/Master Degree in Science, or equivalent.
  • Minimal 5 years of experience in the Regulatory field.
  • Good knowledge of some Registration processes and the regulations driving those, knowledge of specific laws around registrations such as BPR, CLP and Ecolabel.
  • Excellent knowledge of software tools like UCLID, R4PB, SAP-EHS, IA, Product Vision as well as the standard MS office software.
  • Good knowledge of English (verbally and in writing).
  • Sound technical knowledge of the paint and coatings products.
  • Knowledge of the AkzoNobel Paints and Coatings business requirements (e.g. Deco Woodcare or Wood Coatings).
  • Good communication skills (verbally, in writing and presentation).
  • Good understanding of market requirements and business processes in other functions such as marketing, HSE&S, operations and supply chain.
  • A proactive, competitive, results-oriented attitude.
