Purpose of the job

In this dynamic role you are responsible for the development and growth of the Sikkens brand. You prepare the marketing plan and ensure its implementation. You ensure that you are continuously informed of developments in the market and the position of Sikkens in that market. To this end, you maintain close contact with the wholesalers who sell the Sikkens products.

In addition, you keep an eye on the sales figures and the results of campaigns: which products are doing well and which products are lagging behind compared to expectations. If necessary, you determine what action needs to be taken. You also look for opportunities for product innovations. You then coordinate this with your colleagues from supply chain, R&D and sales. As Sikkens is available across Europe, you also will be in close contact with you colleagues abroad.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drawing up the annual marketing plan in line with the general marketing objectives.
  • Responsible for the annual product innovation roadmap process and lead new production innovations projects.
  • Manage product range in order to achieve cost-efficient and high-quality results based on collected market insights.
  • Determining the communication strategy and making briefings for the agencies we work with.
  • Executing (introduction) campaigns in collaboration with the activation manager. For large campaigns, you also work together with your colleague across Europe.
  • Analyzing sales figures and available market research and making proposals for possible adjustments in / improvements within / extensions to the range.
  • Benchmarking and competition research in the field of, among other things, assortment and pricing.
  • Functional leadership of one Jr Brand Manager e.g. training in the marketing discipline and make sure alignment and priorities are kept.You report to the Marketing Manager Professional Brands NL.


What do you bring?

  • Master discipline Marketing/Communication.
  • 5+ years of Brand and/or Marketing Management experience with consumer A-brands in the Dutch market, preferably in a larger (matrixed) organization.
  • Social skills, creative, innovative, analytical, convincingly, team player, proactive project management skills, communicator.
  • Dutch and English; oral and written.
