Are you passionate about chemistry and eager to contribute to groundbreaking projects in the aerospace coatings industry? As a key player in our R&D team, you’ll have the opportunity to design, execute, and analyze experiments that drive the future of aerospace coatings. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a hands-on laboratory environment and enjoys collaborating with talented colleagues to achieve innovative solutions.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver project results on time, ensuring they meet the quality and feasibility standards aligned with business needs.
  • Utilize and apply appropriate methodologies, tools, and systems effectively.
  • Safeguard AkzoNobel technologies and intellectual property.
  • Maintain and promote a safe work environment, adhering strictly to safety policies and procedures in the laboratory and field.
  • Conduct formulation and technical experiments as outlined in the project plan, including setting up test series, preparing and evaluating paint samples, and analyzing results.
  • Document your work thoroughly by making reports, maintaining lab notes, and presenting findings in team meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues from other R&D teams to enhance project outcomes.
  • Suggest improvements to existing formulations in line with market (OEM) requirements.

 

What do you need to have to be successful in this role?

  • Education in Chemistry at HBO or MLO level.
  • 2-3 years of laboratory experience in an industrial environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with paint, especially aerospace coatings, is a plus.
  • A strong sense of responsibility and enthusiasm for hands-on work.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a motivation to collaborate on project teams.
  • Good communication skills and proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and the ability to learn software such as DoE-Software (Design Expert), SAP, and Optiva.
