Our Centralized Planning Center (called Above Market Planning) is a crucial part of AkzoNobel’s integrated supply chain. It consists of a diverse and international team of supply chain professionals located in Sassenheim (>60 expert of 15+ nationalities). The AMP-team develops and implements best practice processes for our Decorative Paints and Automotive & Specialty Coatings production sites across EMEA. By doing this, we significantly increased and stabilized service while in parallel reducing our overall inventory. This has been achieved by embracing Integrated Business Planning into our dynamic and forward-thinking environment, i.e. a more structured interface with stakeholders like Demand Planning, Procurement and Manufacturing. Currently we are looking for strong project managers to strengthen the project team


Job Purpose

Development and Implementation of projects related supply planning across the Supply Chain. Enhance visibility of our supply chain to our customers and suppliers, increase operating effectiveness and collaboration between people and departments. Add value to the business environment.
Focus on sustainability, demonstrate continuous improvement and ensure that projects are consistently applied in a framework operating systems and agreed project management tools and trackers.
In relation to the priorities set for the Integrated Supply Chain, the planning function has to improve in different areas in order to manage better the total supply chain costs and balance Service, Inventory and operating expenses. Projects are defined to support these improvements.
The project manager is responsible for the completion on time of defined project.He / She uses the recognized set of project management tools


  • Represent Planning in cross functional-/hub projects, e.g. related to legal changes, production transfers, big multimarket and multisite NPIs, insourcing initiatives, tenders, value engineering initiatives, regional quality initiatives, etc.
  • Lead or support in planning related CI improvement initiatives/projects within region to improve leading metrics like OTIF and inventory/supply chain costs
  • Drive capability improvements within the team and implement new concepts, tools and processes in collaboration
  • Responsible for consolidated RMP forecast sharing to procurement and suppliers to secure supply of materials on mid and long term needs for selected critical materials / suppliers in close cooperation with Procurement and the Planning hubs
  • Coordination of bigger cross hub material shortages for E&A AMP and NW-Europe in close cooperation with procurement
  • Embedding vendor OTIF process with procurement and sites
  • Tactical and strategic support in the area of production- and material planning
  • Leads/supports region with OWC improvements and/or consolidation
  • Act as point of escalation for operational team to give technical support for SAP & other tooling


  • University Education (e.g. Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Economics, Business Administration or other relevant discipline) with Degree or equivalent qualification 
  • Minimum of 2 years of project management experience
  • Analytical skills and result oriented 
  • Experience in Supply Planning, Material Planning and/or Inventory Management  
  • Experience with SAP-APO, ECC, BI and/or other systems 
  • Takes ownership, is pragmatic and has a “can do” mentality to support the planning operations
  • Works structured and autonomous
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Multi-country experience and fluent in English. Understanding and sensitivity to different cultural behaviours. Mobility as some international travel will be required
